how to decorate your living room for summer

Summer is finally creeping up on us at home and it is time for us to really start looking for ways to spruce up our living space for the occasion. The living room is the heart of any home and is the place we spend most of our time at home. Today we are going to share a couple of ways you can change your living room for the summer and make it both look and feel renewed for the warm season.

Hang a photo canvas

One of the first ways to spruce up your living room is to add some personality with artwork. A canvas of yourself and your family can be a great way to bring some personality to your home whether you use local wedding photographers to capture your special day or you use a candid photo of a family holiday. Filling in a blank space on the wall is slash great and it will really help you to make the room look good.

Choose a bright lick of paint

In the summer months, life is all about bursts of color so why not bring this into your home? A bright lick of yellow or green paint for your living room wall can be a fun way to inject some life into the room and give it a real calming summer vibe. There is nothing better than a good old lick of paint to quickly change the look of a room.

Accessorise with cushions

If you are low on budget and you don’t want to make any major changes to your room, adding a few colorful cushions can be an easy way to change the mood. In the summer months, colors such as yellow and blue are great choices and will bring a sense of vibrancy to your living room. You can even buy cushion covers and simply change these throughout the year to suit the season. It is an effective way to bring some color into a room without spending the time or money.

Make the switch to legged furniture

When considering a change to your living room for the summer – consider making the switch to a sofa and chair that has legs off the ground. The reason for this is that when there is a floor visible underneath your furniture, the room feels bigger and more light gets in. In the summer you want to bring as much light and space into the home as you can and this is a great way to do that in a practical way.

Keep it de-cluttered

Following on from the above point – stop bringing so many small items onto your shelves and instead invest in bigger items. Having fewer large items on display not only gives the feel of luxury in the home but it also will allow you to get rid of clutter and bring space into the room.

Use these tips and ideas to help you bring summer to your living room this year and enjoy the color and vibrancy it brings.
