  >  Life   >  7 Dreamy Ways To Dress Up Your Home

There’s nothing like the start of a new year to make you want to really shake up your interiors. Decorating and sprucing up your home can be fun all throughout the year. But the winter can be incredibly long and when the promise of a new year begins, you may find that it fills you with excitement about all the different things that you want to do. And, seeing as we’re in lockdown right now, there’s actually not an awful lot that we can do. Which is such a shame. However, considering we are all inside at the moment and unable to do much else, working on our décor is definitely a good idea. At the moment, many different DIY and interiors shops are still open and accessible. So maybe you want to spend some time working on your home? This could be the perfect lockdown project for you. But where should you start?

If you’re not really used to decorating, then maybe the idea of renovating your home seems a little bit much? It can be intimidating when you just don’t know where to start. However, you are going to find that if you break it down and look to get some inspiration it can help you to get excited about the prospect. So, here are seven different areas of interior décor that you might want to work on to dress up your home right now.

  1. Paint

First of all, you might want to think about painting the place up nicely. Sometimes, if you have every room neutral or you haven’t decorated in a while (or at all), you may find that you just want to freshen things up with a bit of colour. It can also be really fun for you to shake up your décor with a new look and change the themes of your rooms.

  1. Rearrange

Next, you could even think about rearranging your interiors too. Maybe you want to think about bringing in different types of furniture or moving items from room to room? Sometimes, all it takes is a good shake up for you to fall in love with your interiors again.

  1. Accessorize

Sometimes, all it takes is for you to think about adding in some new bits and pieces in each room. You may find that leaving your home too bare and basic and make it feel cold. Instead, when you choose to bring in some gorgeous finishing touches and homewares, from somewhere such as French Knot, it can really make a room feel complete. So just keep accessorizing until it feels right.

  1. Rip Out

But what do you do when you’ve already done those things and you still aren’t quite pleased with your home? It could be that you want to start really renovating the spaces. When this is the case, you might want to think about ripping out your old kitchen and starting again. Or maybe tearing out the old bathroom and thinking about bringing in something new and modern? This could be the fun project you want to be doing right now.

  1. Replace

Then, you might want to think about replacing some of the items in your home. Do you need new windows? Could a new front door work for you? Or maybe you event want to think about putting in a more modern fireplace? Sometimes, replacing other items for new can really work well.

  1. Extend

Or maybe you want to go one step further then that and extend your home? Maybe you’ve thought about moving but really love where you live? You could definitely look into doing a single-story extension and getting more space on your ground floor. Or, if you know that you’d like to be able to have more room in the whole home, it might be a nice idea for you to consider a full extension and getting additional bedroom space too. Speak to an expert and see what they say.

  1. Reorganize

But it’s also important to recognize that you don’t always have to make huge changes to dress your home up. Maybe you don’t want to be spending a lot of time on it or you don’t have the budget for big changes? That’s okay, you can still make changes that will really shake up the way your home looks and feels by making sure that it’s organized. Having a good clear out, bringing in the right amount of storage that you need, and making sure that everything has a home can really make your house feel fantastic.
