Looking for vegan food in Copenhagen? One of my favourite cities in the world, and somewhere I seem to ‘end up’ every year. I don’t know whether it’s the fashion, homeware, or food that keeps bringing me back but it’s an amazing city and also…great for us vegans.

So, where to eat vegan in Copenhagen? I’ve found some gems on my visits, so I’m rounding up my favourite restaurants for vegan food in the city.

Best Vegan Restaurants in Copenhagen

Veggie Heroes (All vegan)

Located in Østerbro and Versterbero, is a fully vegan Chinese buffet, Veggie Heroes. I actually stumbled across this little gem by accident and boy am I glad I did. The food is DELICIOUS, and both Charlie and I were instantly obsessed having returned a few times since our initial discovery. Reasonably priced (85 DKK per person) and unlimited visits to the buffet will leave you in a food coma afterwards, but oh so worth it. Enjoy dishes such as chilli vegan ‘chicken’, battered ‘shrimp, noodles, and curries too. There’s a mix of faux meat and veggie dishes, so something for everyone. Vegan beer too!

Address: Blegdamsvej 106, 2100 København (Østerbro) or Viktoriagade 3, 1655 København V, (Versterbero)

Souls (All vegan)

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Souls is a popular vegan spot in Copenhagen. A causal and welcoming vibe, enjoy options including pancakes, seasonal salads, bacon cheese burgers, chocolate cake and more tasty treats. There’s also a number of vegan cocktails and beers on offer too. Souls has two locations in Copenhagen, an inner city branch and one a little further out in Østerbro. Honest, homemade and awesome food!

Address: Melchiors Pl. 3, 2100 København

RizRaz (Vegan options)

I haven’t seen RizRaz crop up on any recommendation lists for vegan food, perhaps because it isn’t strictly veggie but still well-worth a visit. There are two RizRaz locations in the city centre, I’d recommend heading to the ? one, just as it’s a little bigger and they list their vegan options. The Meditteranean restaurant runs a ‘Green Buffet’ which is totally vegetarian and abundant with choice. I would say 80-90% of the options are vegan too, but just be sure to check the description. The restaurants have a warm and cosy vibe, and I love the variety of food on offer. Think salads, pastas, falafel, hummus, pitta bread and so on. One of my favourites.

Address: 1169 København K

Made In Italy (All vegan)

Born from a love of Italian food, Made in Italy went fully vegan in 2018 and has gone from strength to strength. The plant-based menu includes homemade pasta, pizza, seitan, cashew cheese and cakes. Everything is homemade and has a wonderfully fresh and authentic Italian feel…and taste! You can also purchase their cheese both in the restaurant and online! The best vegan Italian food in Copenhagen for sure.

Address: Holdergsgade 22, 1057 Copenhagen

SimpleRAW (All vegan)

If you’re looking healthy plant-based food, then SimpleRAW is a great shout. Here you’ll find no preservatives, additives, colouring, dairy, or gluten. Just pure raw goodness! Think vegan smoothie bowls, fruit bowls, avocado toast, and delicious open sandwiches. This sandwich caught my eye in particular: Potatoes, smoked tempeh, tarragon mayo, fried onions & chives. Sign me up.

Address: Gråbrødretorv 9, 1154 København K

California Kitchen Copenhagen (Vegan options)

Enjoy healthy, carefree California vibes in the heart of Copenhagen. California Kitchen is another great vegan-friendly spot that offers healthy and nourishing food. Enjoy various bowls, salads, soups and more. It’s worth nothing this isn’t a strictly vegan restaurant, but they do offer a wide rang of vegan options, as well as dishes that can be made vegan too. There are four locations across the city currently, so you’re bound to bump into one at some point.

Address: Vesterbrogade 58, 1620 København V and three other locations across the city (head to the website for a full list)
