  >  Life   >  3 Ways To Make A Bathroom More Functional

A functional bathroom is the best kind of bathroom. An aesthetically pleasing room is all well and good, but if you can’t actually use the space in the way you need to (comfortably and privately!), you’re not going to like your bathroom all that much!

That’s where functional design tips like these come in. Making your bathroom a better place to be will mean you enjoy your time in there and find it just as comfortable as your living room or bedroom. So, let’s go through three such ideas that you can invest in for a better bathroom experience.

Make Storage Easy to Access

If you’re stepping out of the shower and have just realised you’ve left the towel you need in the airing cupboard in the hallway, that’s not good at all! The storage, whilst useful in keeping things out of the way, is completely impractical and impossible to use properly. You need to have a place to keep your towels neat and tidy actually in the bathroom as well.

Make your bathroom storage ten times easier to access. For example, pop an ottoman in the bathroom, which means you can keep all your soft furnishings in one place AND have somewhere to sit when you’re doing spa activities as well.

Get a New Suite Fitted

Toilet a little uncomfortable to sit on? Maybe it’s too close to the bathroom wall and you can’t fit your legs properly? Maybe the bath is a little small, and not every member of your family can use it? If you can answer yes to questions like these, it’s time to get a new suite fitted.

A good bathroom suite is the best thing here. Rip out the old features and get new ones fitted. These new versions should be bigger than the old ones, more ergonomic to use, and installed in areas that are easier to access and have more space to make use of them.

A shower cabin you can just stand in isn’t great, but one you can move around in, as well as keep your most-used items in without a problem, is the dream!

Increase Air Circulation

A bathroom that doesn’t draw the air away properly is not a properly functional space. If you spot bits of mold growing across the walls and ceiling, where there’s no tile coverage, it’s a sign you need better air circulation.

That’s when you get a bigger vent fitted, or get a new extractor fan in place to whip the wet air out as fast as it’s collecting. That’ll make your bathroom a lot drier over time, and you won’t have to worry about the mold growth getting any bigger. You can then tackle the current spots with a bit of mold cleaner and then never have to think about them again. Simple!

If your bathroom isn’t as functional as it could be, now’s the time to make a change! More storage, better air flow, and new fixtures here!
