Edinburgh Vegan Restaurants Best Places For Vegan Food
Looking for the best vegan restaurants in Edinburgh?
Edinburgh is one of my FAVOURITE places for incredible vegan food. They have the best vegan food scene in the UK, in my opinion anyway! I’m dying to go back soon – you can find my hotel review from our weekend away in the city HERE but now for the good stuff. One of the main attractions about Edinburgh for me was the food. I’d heard rave reviews and read plenty of blog posts all about the hoards of choice and it was anything but salad! There seems to be this misunderating that vegans live off leaves but not me, pass me dem nachos.
Here are my top vegan restaurants in Edinburgh! We didn’t quite get round all the restaurants I had on my list but these are a good starting point. Enjoy!
Best Vegan Restaurants in Edinburgh
Paradise Palms (All Vegan)
We’d just dropped off our luggage and I was already entering Paradise Palms into my Google maps as I was so excited to eat here! It turned out to be the other side of the city but it was only around a half hour walk from George Street. Oh man, it did not disappoint. The interiors are so quirky and the food is to.die.for. Charlie and I shared a portion of the vegan nachos, I had a hot dog and Charlie opted for Mac & Cheese (veggie not vegan). Super delicious and a must-visit when looking for the best vegan food in Edinburgh.
Address: 41 Lothian St, Edinburgh EH1 1HB
Holy Cow (All Vegan)
An awesome 100% Edinburgh vegan cafe serving up incredible burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and dreamy cakes! Know for its signature ‘Muu’ burger which you absolutely have to try. Dogs are also welcome here too, which is always a bonus.
Address: 34 Elder St, Edinburgh EH1 3DX
Hula Cafe (Vegan Options)
Hula do an aaaamazing range of juices which as a juice bar you would probably expect. Although not totally vegan, still worth a shoutout on this list though as they did have some delicious and healthy vegan food on offer! Think smoothie bowls, avocado and toast and sandwiches.
Address: 94A Fountainbridge, Edinburgh EH3 9QA
Nova Pizza (All Vegan)
I love pizza. I’ve always loved pizza so when I went vegan in 2016 it was imperative that it remained in my life. Nova pizza is a veggie Italian restaurant and they have a WHOLE VEGAN MENU full to the brim with pizzas, pastas and sides. It was overwhelming but amazing. I opted for pizza (duh) and it was all kinds of heaven. Their Instagram isn’t active (as you can see below) but trust me when I say it’s 100% worth visiting.
Address: 42 Howe St, Edinburgh EH3 6TH
The Auld Hoose (Vegan Options)
Now this post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning these BEASTLY nachos. The best vegan nachos in Edinburgh hands down. Wow just wow and this isn’t even the ‘large’ size. The Auld Hoose is a little out of the centre but so worth the walk as we couldn’t have enjoyed our visit more. The atmosphere is so relaxed, we kicked back with a few diet cokes (wild I know) and enjoyed a mountain of deliciousness. I was actually pretty gutted that I was too full to enjoy any of the other vegan options on the menu (there were tonnes) but hey maybe that warrants a trip back?!
Address: 23-25 St. Leonard’s St, Edinburgh EH8 9QN
Hendersons (Vegan Options/All Vegan)
Hendersons is a vegetarian institution, and one of the first veggie/vegan eateries in the city. There are now two branches in Edinburgh and one is totally vegan, as well as the salad bar restaurant and deli/shop. Expect dishes such as jackfruit stew, vegan haggis, soups, salads and tofu bowls. Healthy hearty food is what Hendersons is all about.
Address: Various (see full list here) but Hendersons Vegan can be found 25 Thistle St, Edinburgh EH2 1DX
Black Rabbit (All Vegan)
This vegan cafe is adored by many, and serves up delicious brunch options including grilled breakfasts, breakfasts rolls and vegan bacon with vegan egg (ie scrambled tofu!). The selection of cakes and vegan croissants are pretty epic too. The perfect place to enjoy vegan breakfast or brunch in Edinburgh!
Address: 33 Brougham St, Edinburgh EH3 9JT
