It feels so good to be sitting down at my laptop, no plans but to just ramble on this blank page. Truth be told, I’ve missed blogging. It’s not that I ever *stopped* it just slid down my list of priorities. I’ll get onto that in a little more detail further down. I got to a point last month where I just didn’t know what to say. My favourite blog content is my travel content, documenting my adventures and top tips with style thrown in too. I love this mix of what I’m wearing and what I’m doing in a new exciting city or even on a UK staycation (sorry I kinda hate that word too).

My January was pretty quiet so I didn’t feel I had much to say in all honesty. I was trying my best to remain positive in the longest, bleakest month of all time and also trying to juggle work with  various collaborations, freelancing and trying to buy our house! If no one has ever told you what a pain in the ass buying a house is, let me tell you now, it’s a pain in the ass.

And breathe.

I feel as if the longer break I take away from my blog, the harder it gets to just shove a post out there. It seemed too random, and whilst I do have a few topics more in depth than just an OOTD I’d love to cover and discuss on this blog, they would take a lot more thought and preparation time than my mind could give. I thought I’d give myself a belated New Years refresh, a quick life update to let you guys know what I’ve been up to and what I’m doing, which is not particularly exciting but hey. I’d also love some feedback for future posts too, so hopefully I can pick your brains…

So as I said, December and January were quiet months for me, our final trip of the year to Amsterdam got cancelled and we decided not to book anything in for January. Buying our house is a bit of a drainer on both our funds and our time so I’ve been trundling along yearning for warmer weather. However things are finally picking up and we’ve sent our documents signed & sealed to our solicitors so we’re now ready to complete and begin the renovation YAY.

I’ve also been working on a side project which I can’t say too much about now but hopefully in the future I can share my excitement and all will be revealed. I’ve had to cut down on some of my freelance work, mostly because I found myself regularly breaking down on a Sunday afternoon, stressed that I simply didn’t have enough time to fit everything in. I could feel the stress taking over me, and I felt so drained and uninspired because of this. So I’ve cut my workload back in order to refocus and get a few things moving but hopefully I can pick this back over summer when my time is a freed up.

I’ve also found myself torn between my blog and Instagram. As much as I would love to rant about the algorithm all day long, I won’t. We know it’s shit and there’s not much I can do about that. My approach to Instagram has changed though, I’ve been taking a lot more images of my daily outfits on my phone whereas before I was more focused on taking ‘proper’ photos on my Olympus PEN and using them for a blog post, and Insta as a sort of afterthought/promotion of said post. This means I’m taking fewer photos on my camera and more on my phone which aren’t what I’d deem ‘blog quality’. If I had more time I’d do both, but I really don’t and I’ve found myself throwing more of my efforts into Instagram. But is that a risk? To focus my efforts on an App that could be gone tomorrow? My blog will always be here (ya know unless I delete it) but Instagram might not be.

I’ve picked up some pretty great collaborations so far this year which I’m super grateful for! I couldn’t quite believe when an email from & Other Stories dropped into my inbox, they’re one of my long term favourite brands so I’m pretty buzzed to be working with them. I’m also set to spend a weekend in Brighton, as part of the IBIS influencer programme I’ve been invited to join. Overall, some pretty exciting projects and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings. In terms of travel I’ve got Brighton, Manchester and Lisbon lined up so far, so do feel free to send tips!

And with that in mind, I’d love to know what content you enjoy reading the most. Not necessarily from me, but in general as well.

Travel content?

Personal posts?

House renovation?

Fashion content?

I’d love to know what you’d like to read about on here so please do leave me a comment or pop me a message on social.

If you got this far, thanks for reading!
