If you’re a reader of my blog then you’ll know that travel is a huge part of my life. There’s no denying this blog has definitely veered more into the direction of travel from the core fashion focus it used to have. Now I still love my clothes, of course! I do feel though as I get older I begin to value experiences and trips a little more over my Asos hauls. The trips might be fewer next year (although I’m hoping not, going to be ALL OVER those cheap flight deals) as we have just bought a house!
I love homeware and I love travels so it only makes sense to incorporate these two and create a home that reminds me of my trips and adventures to pick me up when I’m sobbing over the cost of flights to New York ha ha. The lovely guys over at Desenio kindly provided me with a voucher to pick out my favourite travel inspired prints, and boy was it a hard task! There are so many contemporary, scandi-inspired prints that are right up my street.
I eventually narrowed it down, and here’s the prints I chose….
As soon as I saw the Los Angeles map I KNEW I had to have it! It reminds me of our big California trip we embarked on this summer and our 5 night stint in LA (read more about that here). I truly loved our time in Los Angeles and I’m almost certain we’ll be heading back either next year or in 2019. It’s such a crazy place but I loved all the different parts of the city from Santa Monica, to Venice Beach and West Hollywood. I wanted to pair it up with another large sized print, so after a thorough hunt through of the website I decided on the black and white palm trees. Does anything else say LA more than palm trees? They’re the perfect match and I love the monochrome.
Inspired by our recent trip to Stockholm I also picked up the slightly smaller (30×40) prints with the Stockholm typography and pastel street. I love how well these two work together as a pair and the soft shades of pink and blue really bring together my little picture wall. I’m not a huge fan of colour, and prefer a softer more neutral colour palette so I think this works really well to bring in a little colour but not too much!
My coffee table changes week to week as I love to switch it up with different candles, travel books and usually a few of my trusty Suitcase magazines. Being surrounded by travel inspired pieces and magazines always helps me to feel inspired and of course, planning all my future travels!

And finally, I picked up this ‘Positano’ print which is a little different to the others but for some reason I was totally draw to its randomness. It reminds me of a woman in a giant sunhat, and given the name of it she’s probably strolling along the coast of Italy. I love this part of Italy personally so it brings back great memories of my holiday to the Amalfi Coast, somewhere I’m itching to go back to!
Overall I was super impressed with both the quality of the pictures themselves and the frames. I put them all together in no time and I love how they remind me of my travels every time I glance at them. I already have a wishlist of further prints I want from Desenio including this world map and this solar system design.
