It’s officially party season!

And that means it’s time to dust off the dancing shoes and drag yourself away from Netflix for a few festive tipples. Generally, of a weekend I prefer to hibernate with my favourite series or head of out for dinner with Charlie or the girls but it’s hard to avoid a party at this time of the year. Work parties, gatherings with long-lost friends, your partners work party, it can be never-ending. I always find myself a bit like a fish out of water when it comes to party dressing. I’m not into the glitz, I hate anything of the bodycon nature (our 2009 love affair is well & truly over) and generally I find it’s just not really ME.

So today I’ve torn myself away from grey oversized Zara knits (oh the comfort) to put together two looks for this festive partaay season that say more ‘I’m totally social pass me a drink’ and less ‘gonna binge watch how to get away with murder for 5 hours’… the dress shot

H&M Cami Dress / Topshop Blazer / EGO Heels* / Hobbs Faux Fur Clutch* / Alexi Necklace* / DYRBERG/KERN Bracelet & Ring*

Ah the dress. It’s a rarity that you’ll find me in a dress of any sort but there was something about this cami-style midi from H&M that I was just drawn to. It reminds me a little of Kate Moss circa 98′ although I am defo not bringing those vibes to the table LOL. A girl can try.

I also think it would look pretty good grunged up with a tee underneath and perhaps a pair of fishnets, but I decided to keep it simple and chic. Teamed up with one of my best buys of the century, my trusty long Topshop blazer and a pair of super fun fluffy heels from the EGO party collection. I always tend to keep my accessories simple, so I opted for a delicate necklace from Alexi who by the way if you haven’t checked out then you definitely should.

The Outfit

Whistles Renee Trousers / H&M Bralette / ROMWE Gilet (old) / EGO Floral Boots*

This outfit is a very typical ‘me’ outfit and one that I would feel 100% confident and ready for a boogie in. I’m obsessed with these snazzy, slightly lairy boots that just seem to work despite the abundance of colours and patterns! As they’re quite a statement piece I wanted to keep the rest of the look monotone. The wide leg trouser always works well with an ankle boot and I added a little lace with the crop for those party vibes. Throw on a faux gilet et voila, the perfect heading out for festive cocktails look with the girls.

Which look do you prefer? Are you a casual kinda gal or do you love to dress up?
