Hotel Indigo York

So this weekend, I headed out of Cambridgeshire and up North to the lovely city of York. This was actually originally booked as  a New Years trip but due to the awful flooding that took place we had to postpone our visit. Luckily the hotel let us re-book, so we packed our bags and headed up.

I’ll get onto what we got up to in my next post, but I just wanted to pop up a quick look at the hotel we stayed at. I came across the Hotel Indigo whilst doing a little research in December, I loved the quirky style of the rooms and after reading some positive comments we booked two nights. It came to £250 for the two night stay which I thought was pretty good so no complaints there.

The hotel was super easy to find, in fact it was a 2 and a half hour drive from Cambridgeshire to York on the same road, I didn’t realise how easy it was to get to! The hotel has very limited parking but conveniently there is a 24 hour pay and display just up the road so we parked up there for the weekend. Dumped our bags, picked up a pizza from over the road (I was absolutely STARVING and it was too late to go out) took it back to the room and settled in. I won’t lie I had a blast chilling in my pyjamas on a giant bed with a pizza!

The room itself was gorgeous, I loved the interior, especially the monochrome bathroom – right up my street! The bed was a luxurious king size and so so comfy. The room itself was a good size and very clean. One thing that really bothers me about staying in hotels is the cleanliness as I can be a bit of a germaphobe but I have to say this is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in so it made my stay much more comfortable! The room also had a complimentary mini bar which I thought was a nice touch, with bottles of water, special York chocolate, kit kats and other snacks.

In the morning we set off to explore the city and the lady at reception showed us a map and was really helpful, as we’d never been to the area before we didn’t really have a clue! The hotel is a great location, just a few minutes walk up a lovely cobbled street to get into the centre.

Overall, a really great hotel and I couldn’t fault it! If I happen to find myself in York again I would definitely rebook.

Stay tuned for my next post, all about what we got up to!
