Hola chicas! Something a little different today, and you may have seen my sneak peek over the weekend but today is all about festival style glitter makeup. It’s been ages since I’ve put together a beauty post on my blog and it was so much fun so thank you to Boots for having me involved!

The look I’ve put together is something you might wear for a festival, but you could also wear the glitter eyes look on a night out, for dinner, drinks and so on if you take away the face gems, but hey if you wanna go out wearing gems on your face I’m HERE for it. This look has got me SO excited for the summer, I don’t know about you but I’m totally ready for the beautiful sunshine and plenty of adventures.

So here’s the NYX products you’ll need to complete the look.

NYX Glitter Eyeshadow
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette (smoky)
NYX Glitter Primer
NYX Worth The Hype Mascara
NYX Epic Ink Liquid Eyeliner
NYX Strictly Vinyl Lipgloss
An orange base shadow

To begin I applied my base, I tend not to go too heavy with my foundation and concealer as I personally don’t like wearing it too thick! I used the baking technique, a little something I picked up from Lina my makeup guru (and Charlie’s little sister) this helps your concealer and foundation to stay in place for the best part of the day –  particularly important with a look like this!baking technique

For my base shadow I opted for a striking matte orange to begin the look, I used this from an existing palette belonging to Lina (thanks Lina!) and blended over my whole eyelid.

I then selected my shades from the gorgeous NYX Ultimate Smoky Eye Palette. The shades are super pigmented and striking, I opted for the dark red and purple matte shades to compliment the orange base. I blended with a fluffy shader brush to really amplify the glitter that is going on the lid in the next step.

To ensure the glitter will stick and last, I used the NYX Glitter Primer. This was applied with a small detailer brush precisely where the glitter was going to go. I have to say, the primer is absolutely brilliant and provided excellent staying power for the glitter, I’d highly recommend it if you’re thinking of putting together any similar looks involving glitter – it was still exactly in place 12 hours later!

And now the fun part! The glitter eyeshadow (in shade 01) was applied with another detailer brush on the inner corner of my eyelids. I didn’t want to go OTT with a full glitter lid, and this really complimented the red, purple and orange shades. I then used the Epic Ink liquid eyeliner to draw a thin line on the outer side of my eyelid. Lashings of the Worth the Hype mascara was then used to complete the eyes, this added great volume and length to my lashes and doesn’t smudge or clump! The mascara has some serious staying power and is definitely a new staple in my makeup bag.

To finish off the final look I added a slick of the Strictly Vinyl lipgloss for another pop of colour and face gems from the Gypsy Shrine. These are really fun for festival makeup looks, but for a low-key event you obviously don’t need to add them!

Et Voila.

What do you think? Will you be giving a NYX glitter eye look a go this summer?
